Hey! I’m James, a wedding photographer based in sunny Staffordshire.
My style is natural, relaxed and all about the emotions. I like to call it creative documentary photography. Perfect for couples like you, who are doing things their own way. You don’t want hours of portraits or hundreds of stiff family formal photographs. You want storytelling photographs that will bring back those memories of your wedding for years to come.
I photograph all over the UK but you’ll mainly find me shooting weddings in Staffordshire, The West Midlands, Cheshire, Derbyshire and Shropshire.

Basically, no cheesy posing!
Yes, that’s right. Zero awkward posing and definitely no cheese. Sounds good doesn’t it! Of course we’ll do a handful of family group photographs but you want to hang out with the people you love, not feel like you’re in the middle of photoshoot.
When it comes to photos of the two of you we’ll just go for a walk. You get to have a bit of time together away from the chaos whilst I snap away. I'll give you a bit of gentle guidance to help ease you in but it's all about you two being yourselves. It sounds simple and it is. But it works.

As a wedding photographer in Staffordshire I get to work at some of the best venues in the county. From The Ashes Barns (where I also got married!) to the unique & stunning Foxtail Barns or Sandon Hall, one of Staffordshire’s hidden gems! I may be (slightly!) biased but you just can’t beat the rolling countryside of the Moorlands and the beauty of the Peak District national park. Plus Staffordshire Oatcakes are an added bonus!
I got married myself just a couple of years ago and I remember those long evenings spent planning. I got slightly addicted to looking at blogs of real weddings, seeing what people did and taking inspiration from their ideas. My wedding blog is jam packed with real couples, just like you.
