THE OLDE BELL HURLEY WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
CLAIRE & ALEX | INTIMATE WEDDING NEAR LONDON
I was thrilled to photograph Claire and Alex's wedding a few weeks ago at the Olde Bell in Hurley. The couple celebrated at this gorgeous rustic barn in the county of Berkshire, just outside of London. I so was happy finally to photograph a wedding at The Olde Bell and I couldn't wait for their big day to arrive! I am very blessed to work in such fantastic locations as a wedding photographer and the Olde Bell with its walled gardens and wooden barn did not disappoint. The owners even describe it as "A Quintessentially British Wedding Venue..."
I started photographing in the bridal Suite where Claire and her bridesmaids were getting ready for the day. Bridal prep gives me the opportunity to get to know the bridal party a bit more and is great for storytelling. Claire, her bridesmaids and her mum were being looked after by the amazingly talente Sarah Thorne of Thorne Brides. Sarah is a freelance Hair and Make-up artist based in Cookham, Berkshire and is dedicated to making brides feel beautiful inside and out. During prep Claire's flowers were freshly delivered by Lucy B owner of Green and Envy based in Bermondsey, London. Lucy's philosophy is about "working collaboratively with each client, bringing flowery desires to life without costing the earth."
PINK HUES, GARDEN ROSES, AUTUMN SUNSHINE
Just before they headed to the church Claire and Alex decided to have a "first look" as they wanted to walk to the church together anyway. Alex waited patiently as Claire walked across the green and when she was ready he turned around to get a first glance of his beautiful bride. St Mary the Virgin church was a fantastic place to photograph all the intimate moments of Claire and Alex’s wedding ceremony. It was such a joy to capture their church blessing surrounded by their closest family and friends. This 11th century chapel with ornate clock tower and original Norman features is steeped in history and character.
After the ceremony the wedding party enjoyed a lovely reception in the impressive oak beamed tithe barn. The atmosphere at the reception was perfect and everyone enjoyed a sumptuous feast along with fine wines. Tables were dressed elegantly with white linen, fresh flowers using pink and blush hues and the table plan took the form of names on the side of wine bottles. Everyone loves a good Autumn wedding, and I'm no exception. The Autumn colours and sunshine made a great back drop for couple portraits as we walked in the walled gardens and the nearby woodland. I really enjoyed photographing Claire and Alex's special day...
